Holding down the fort!

Tim is doing well...as good as can be given location and circumstances. That is a huge blessing for all of us. If he's going to be far away, we want him to enjoy his work. His mission is unique and he's really encouraged by the direction that it is going. Can I be more vague? Hmmm I don't think so. But I could be writing that he's miserable and cold. Life is hard every day and his life is endangered every minute. That is not the case. We are in the hands of a mighty God and He gives us evidence of His presence in small and great ways.

At home we continue to school. We bought rockin curriculum this year and we're really enjoying doing it together! Tim has been going to a Bible study on Wednesdays. They started their study in Genesis and we have started there this year for History and our Bible lessons. So it's good to compare notes!

We also joined a co-op in Maple Valley that is closer to our home and fits our family really well. The kids look fwd to going each week. "Four more days till co-op!" Kate declares this morning. She takes a ballet class and helps in the nursery...she and Chris also share the same Solar System class! Chris is learning Chess on a whole new level and he walked out with his own portable chess set last week. He stood taller with it in his hand. He is a gamer. He loves video games, board games, sports, and whatever. Anyone who will play is his new best friend. We headed to the basketball hoop down the culdesac a few days ago and I watched my son come alive. He is so competitive!

Tommy gets to go to "class" with Nana every Tuesday. She is doing a women's Bible study every other week and took him to buy his own lunch box. He thinks he's pretty hot stuff! We try and focus and pack in our work while he's gone! He walks out the door all dressed and ready to go like he is 10!

Ben is an enormous baby. Everybody teases me when I carry him in the Moby wrap because he looks half my size! He's about 23lbs and he's only 5 months old. He folds himself in half and sucks his toes on the floor. Right now he's screaming while the other sjump on our ugly brown couch! Guess it's time to wrap this up!

So between school and soccer, ballet, Nana Day, AWANA and church, we are distracted from Daddy's absence. The evenings and weekends are our time to really miss him. But, we are so happy that we get to talk to him regularly. So we count ourselves blessed. More lata! Off to console the screamer and wake our napping 2 yr old!
